Watamu to Tsavo East National Park
05:30 AM: Pick-up from your coastal hotel or airport and drive along the Mombasa–Nairobi highway toward Tsavo East (Bachuma Gate).
09:00 AM – 12:30 PM (3.5 Hours Game Drive): Enter Tsavo East and begin a morning game drive tracking large herds of "red dust" elephants, lions, buffaloes, and giraffes.
12:30 PM – 03:00 PM: Check in at your lodge/camp, enjoy lunch, and relax during the midday heat.
03:00 PM – 06:30 PM (3.5 Hours Game Drive): Extensive afternoon game drive exploring the Aruba Dam area and Galana River banks where predators gather.
Overnight: Lodge / Camp in Tsavo East.
Day 2: Full Day Safari in Tsavo East National Park
06:00 AM – 08:30 AM (2.5 Hours Game Drive): Early morning game drive when big cats (lions, cheetahs, leopards) are actively hunting.
08:30 AM: Return to lodge for breakfast.
10:00 AM – 12:30 PM (2.5 Hours Game Drive): Mid-morning game drive exploring less-visited sectors of the park, including the Yatta Plateau area.
12:30 PM – 03:00 PM: Lunch and short rest.
03:00 PM – 06:30 PM (3.5 Hours Game Drive): Sunset game drive around key watering holes.
Overnight: Lodge / Camp in Tsavo East.
Day 3: Tsavo East to Tsavo West National Park
06:00 AM – 08:00 AM (2 Hours Game Drive): Early morning game drive en route as you exit Tsavo East.
08:30 AM: Breakfast, then proceed across to Tsavo West National Park via Mtito Andei or River Gate.
11:00 AM – 01:00 PM (2 Hours Game Drive): En-route game drive through Tsavo West’s volcanic landscapes, Shetani Lava Flow, and acacia woodlands.
01:00 PM – 03:30 PM: Check-in and lunch at lodge/camp.
03:30 PM – 06:30 PM (3 Hours Game Drive): Afternoon game drive visiting the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary to view black rhinos and leopards.
Overnight: Lodge / Camp in Tsavo West.
Day 4: Tsavo West to Taita Hills Salt Lick Sanctuary
06:00 AM – 09:00 AM (3 Hours Game Drive): Early morning game drive visiting Mzima Springs for a guided nature walk to view hippos and crocodiles from an underwater glass chamber.
09:30 AM: Breakfast and checkout, then depart for Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary.
12:30 PM: Check in at Taita Hills Lodge or Salt Lick Game Lodge and enjoy lunch.
03:30 PM – 06:30 PM (3 Hours Game Drive): Afternoon game drive across the sanctuary plains, returning to the iconic stilted Salt Lick Lodge where wildlife visits the floodlit waterholes directly beneath the rooms.
Overnight: Salt Lick Game Lodge / Taita Hills Lodge.
Day 5: Taita Hills / Ngutuni Sanctuary to Coastal Hotel
06:00 AM – 08:30 AM (2.5 Hours Game Drive): Early morning game drive in Taita Hills Sanctuary to catch early predator activity.
08:30 AM: Full breakfast at the lodge.
09:30 AM – 12:30 PM (3 Hours Game Drive): Mid-morning game drive through nearby Ngutuni Sanctuary.
12:30 PM: Lunch at Ngutuni Lodge.
02:00 PM: Depart for Mombasa, Diani, or Watamu, arriving in the late afternoon/early evening for hotel drop-off.
